Services for Children and Families
The clinic is designed for families with a wide range of parenting
concerns. Some parents come to our program with questions about how to handle the
daily challenges of child-rearing; others are seeking treatment for a child with severe
behavioral problems. Whether your child is displaying severe aggression and violent
behaviors or is simply refusing to do chores when asked, the Parenting Center and Child
Conduct Clinic can help.

Our Program
The clinic is unique in that it offers only evidence-based treatment. All of
our therapies are derived from decades of research and have been empirically proven to work
across a wide variety of situations. We provide concrete parenting techniques that focus on:
- Improving cooperation at home
- Developing social and academic behaviors
- Teaching children to accept disappointments calmly
- Handling a child's resistance to performing everyday tasks (e.g., getting dressed,
completing homework, and cleaning his or her room)
- Making family time more enjoyable
When a child exhibits more severe difficulties at home or at school, we teach
parenting skills that help to:
- Improve parent discipline practices
- Reduce fighting, aggression, or severe/frequent tantrums
- Reduce defiant or disruptive behavior at school
- Develop adaptive behaviors
When parents learn to become more effective in disciplining and
improving their child's behaviors, the child learns to deal with interpersonal situations
in positive, more adaptive ways. He or she will become more responsible and confident,
while learning to make positive choices and to improve his or her relationships at home
and at school.
